Behold, LINMUN Delegates,

My name is Ethan Chang, and I am a sophomore (G10) at Asia American International Academy (AAIA). Having participated in conferences across committees such as the Security Council, WHO, UNICEF, UNDP, and the General Assembly, I have had the opportunity to represent countries ranging from China to Sierra Leone. LINMUN will be my third time chairing and my tenth overall Model UN conference! Additionally, I am currently serving as the Secretary General for NTMUN V.

Through MUN, I have learned that diplomacy is a curious exercise--oh no, curiosity killed the cat! Everyone enters the room convinced they have the holy grail of solutions to the issue, and somehow, we still need to write a resolution together and nitpick on the small imperfections in solutions (because charis coerced us to be on-stance, right?). Beyond the emotional-heavy speeches, endless research, and occasional caffeine-fueled crisis that may or may not get out of hand, I enjoy the challenge of understanding perspectives different from my own and finding common ground where it seems least likely to exist. 

I look forward to meeting all of you at LINMUN, hearing your ideas, engaging in thoughtful debate, and finding bones to pick because there is no "perfect" resolution. Whether we agree on everything or absolutely nothing, I hope we can make this conference both intellectually rewarding and genuinely enjoyable!

Hi, my name is Sophie Miao. I’m currently a freshman at Kang Chiao International School Linkou Campus. This year’s LINMUN will mark my 8th conference and my first time chairing! 

My MUN journey started in 7th grade, but I grew to love it more and more along the way. When I realized MUN isn’t just about drafting resolutions and getting speaker points. It’s also about the people you get to engage with and the knowledge plus news you get to learn from experience. 

Outside of school and MUN, I enjoy shopping, taking pictures, baking, and so much more, especially hanging out with my friends. I’m so pleased to be serving as the Deputy President of HRC. See you guys soon!! <3
