Commission on the Status of Women
(601) The question of protecting women in conflict zones from gender-based violence
(602) Addressing restrictive abortion laws on women's health and socioeconomic mobility
Greetings! My name is Jemima Wooden, a junior at I-Shou International School, and I will be serving as the President of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) for LINMUN VI.
MUN has always held an extremely special place in my heart, as not only did it help me strengthen my confidence, it also allowed me to build a deeper understanding of global issues.
Despite amassing less than 10 speaker points in total for the first 4 conferences of my MUN journey, through the help of countless individuals, I learnt how to think critically and outside the box, and eventually started reaching new heights in my MUN journey that 12 year old me would never believe I am capable of.
LINMUN VI is projected to be my 23rd conference and 3rd time chairing. I never would have been able to get here if it weren't for the help and support from many, which in turn inspired me to eventually help others grow in MUN.
To all participants, I hope that you guys at the very least learn a thing or two and most importantly, have fun.
I am a junior at CTBC CIA International Academy. I have 10+ experience as a delegate. This will be my second time chairing officially. For beginners of Mun activities, I want to say: “Don't lose the courage to move forward.”. Making mistakes is a process that all members will go through, and every time you side with your delegation, it is a perfect opportunity to grow. For those experienced delegates, I encourage you to review your skills, show your leadership, and teach others valuable skills. I am hoping that we can work together, creating a comfortable environment for all the delegates. Collaboration is crucial— every voice matters, and a good committee should have the room for all the delegates to show their idea with any concerns.
Beyond Mun, I enjoy talking with others, no matter what the topics are! From literature to sport, from philosophy to dreams. Not only in interests but also in academics. As we go through the conference, we will build up friendships, make some improvements, and most importantly, have a lot of memories! I truly wish all of you achieve the goals you want in MUN. I hope we can create unlimited memories in the limited time we have.
If you have any questions for the committee, topics, or research, etc. Feel free to contact me; I am always here to help you out. This is my Gmail: 11310018@cia.ctbc.edu.tw. I will reply to your message in 10 hours.
