Distinguished delegates, advisors, and all participants, I am Jade, a first-year Bachelor of Science student at the University of Melbourne, and it is my utmost honour to serve as the President of Historical Crisis at the 7th Annual LINMUN. 

Over 6 years ago, I began my MUN journey, shy, quiet, intimidated, not quite sure what I was doing, or even why I was there. Today, after half a decade and 24 conferences, I stand before you, confident and determined, finally understanding what I'm doing and why I am here. It is exactly this journey and growth that inspires and defines me as a chair: to guide a new generation of future diplomats, to lead those who fear MUN to embrace it, and to watch as the world slowly adapts to every new emergence, in science, in technology, in politics, towards peace, unity, and stability. LINMUN VII will mark my 25th conference, 4th LINMUN, 11th time chairing, and my very last MUN conference. I look forward to sharing this experience with you all. 

Outside of MUN, I enjoy music (especially rock, indie, punk, and metal), singing, STEM (physics, calculus, astronomy, and maths in general), football (currently watching the EPL, UCL, and UNL), playing basketball, and binge-watching.

Greetings, delegates! My name is Joy Yang, and I’m a freshman at Kang Chiao International School Linkou Campus (KCISLK). It is my greatest honor to serve as your Deputy President for the Historical Crisis Committee at this year’s LINMUN. This will be my seventh conference and my first time chairing. 

I started MUN two years ago, but I can still vividly remember my very first conference, when I stepped up to the podium with a quiet voice and shaking hands. Many people join MUN to make friends and socialize, and I can guarantee that this is truly one of its best aspects. However, what really made MUN special to me was how it helped me discover my capabilities and my passion for debate and public speaking. Since that first day, my fear has grown into excitement for heated debates, innovative resolutions, and meeting incredibly talented people. MUN is a stage where you can open your eyes to the world. Don’t be afraid to raise your placard or simply make a POI, because these small actions are what have brought me to where I am today. Whether this is your first or last conference, don’t forget to enjoy the experience, as this is your chance to create some of your best memories! 

Outside of MUN, I like to doodle, listen to music, and read thrillers and romance novels (especially those by Emily Henry and Katherine Center). Some other hobbies I enjoy are bouldering and singing off-key with my friends. Lastly, feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
