Volunteering your time is a fantastic way to make your mark on a cause that you care about and learn new things along the way. It will improve communication skills, teamwork and decision making which will help make you stand out from the crowd when it comes to getting a job.
There really is a volunteering opportunity for everyone; whether sport or music is your thing, if you want to travel far and wide or help out closer to home, there will be an opportunity that's just right for you
As part of the RPA duty, the government state that you can participate in part-time education or training combined with one of the following:
employment or self-employment for 20 hours or more a week
volunteering for 20 hours or more a week (can be with more than one placement)
In many cases the volunteering placement will provide you with training in return for your time. Always ask when you initially meet and check to make sure that it is a regulated qualification that they are offering you.
