School Uniform Information
In our commitment to fostering pride and unity among our students, Kalianna School has instituted a mandatory school uniform policy. Students are required to wear the Kalianna shirt or jumper paired with navy blue pants or shorts each day. Footwear choices include either runners or enclosed-toe shoes for safety.
To prevent uniform loss or misplacement, we strongly recommend labeling all items clearly. Conveniently, Kalianna uniforms, including hoodies, jackets, polos, hats, and beanies, are available for purchase on-site.
In addition to our standard uniform offerings, we take pride in showcasing student-designed Indigenous shirts and hoodies. Crafted by our Koorie students with guidance from our KESO, these unique items are also available for purchase at our school office.
To place an order, kindly complete the provided form, and our dedicated staff will fulfill your request within 3 business days. Sample sizes are accessible for fitting at the office—feel free to inquire.
By adhering to the school's uniform policy, students will not only demonstrate their school pride, but they will also contribute to a safe and secure learning environment.
Thank you for your cooperation in upholding our school's commitment to a cohesive and prideful learning environment.

SunSmart
As a SunSmart school, we are committed to educating our students on sun safety practices, which include wearing a broad-brimmed hat and sunscreen whenever they are outdoors for any reason.
To ensure the effectiveness of our SunSmart policy, it is mandatory for all students to comply with the hat and sunscreen requirements between 30th September and 1st May each year. This will not only help protect our students from harmful UV radiation but also promote healthy sun safety habits that they can carry throughout their lives.
We strongly encourage parents and guardians to support our SunSmart policy by providing their children with a school uniform hat and sunscreen, as well as reinforcing the importance of sun safety practices at home. Together, we can work towards creating a safe and healthy learning environment for all our students.
Personal Items
The Department of Education and Training (DET) does not provide insurance coverage for personal property brought onto school premises. As a result, the department will not be liable to make payment for any loss or damage to such property. We advise students and parents to exercise caution and discourage the bringing of valuable or precious items to school. This recommendation aims to protect students from potential loss or damage and to promote a safe and secure learning environment.
Mobile Phone Policy
In 2020, the Department of Education and Training (DET) implemented a school phone policy with the goal of creating a safe learning environment free from inappropriate mobile phone use, including cyberbullying, and minimising distractions. This policy also aims to encourage social interaction and physical activity during recess and lunchtimes, providing students with greater opportunities for personal and social development. It is important for students and parents to be familiar with the policy in order to support the school's objectives and promote a positive educational experience.
The Kalianna 'Mobile Phone - Student Use' policy can be found here.
