Parents/Carers
At Kalianna School, we understand the essential role that you play in your child's education. We recognise that education is a partnership between students, parents, and teachers. Therefore, we have established systems to ensure that communication channels between home and school are always open.
Regular communication between parents and teachers is vital to ensure that your child's educational needs are being met. We provide several opportunities for you to meet with our staff, including parent-teacher conferences, meetings, and phone calls. These meetings are scheduled at mutually agreed times and allow us to discuss your child's progress and identify any areas that require further support.
We also recognise that keeping parents informed is critical. To that end, we provide comprehensive and timely information through various platforms, including ClassDojo and Kalianna's Facebook page. These platforms provide regular updates on school events, important dates, and any other relevant information that parents need to know.
We believe that by working together, we can create a supportive learning environment that allows your child to reach their full potential. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.
School Expectations of Parents/Carers
Kalianna School places great importance on the involvement and support of parents and carers in the education and well-being of their children. We have established certain expectations of our parent and carer community in order to ensure that our students receive the best possible education in a safe and supportive environment.
Firstly, we request that parents and carers support the school in the implementation of the Annual Implementation Plan and Strategic Plan. Copies of these plans are available from the school office and we encourage all parents and carers to familiarise themselves with these plans.
Additionally, we expect parents and carers to take an active interest in the education of their child/children, communicate important issues and concerns to the school, attend meetings arranged by the school, and make every effort to ensure that their child attends school on a regular basis and is on time.
We also encourage parents and carers to attend parent/teacher interviews to discuss their child's progress and to support the Expected Behaviour Matrix and Discipline/Referral Matrix.
By working together, we can ensure that our students receive a high-quality education and have the support they need to achieve their full potential. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to the success of our students.
