Introduction
Welcome to Kalianna School, where our vision of Unite and Inspire and our values of Positive, Inclusive, Creative guide our actions as a school community. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment that values learning and fosters confident, creative, and resilient individuals who aspire to be their best selves.
At Kalianna School, we prioritise the social, emotional, educational, and physical needs of all our students, including their sensory and personal care needs. We promote respect for diversity in ability, cultural, racial, ethnic, and social backgrounds. Our aim is to continually work towards providing for the needs of all students in our community.
Our purpose is to inspire children to achieve their full potential by developing a culture of learning based on positive relationships between students, staff, parents, and the wider community. We strive to foster self-motivated lifelong learners through a challenging curriculum appropriate to the needs of all students. Our positive, caring, stimulating, and happy learning environment promotes high standards of achievement and behaviour, with high expectations for all students to achieve their personal best.
At Kalianna School, we believe that all members of the school community have a valued part to play in formalizing the expectations and values of the school. The welfare of students, staff, and parents is an underlying consideration in everything that we do. Effective communication with all members of the school community is a priority, and we take a proactive role in ensuring that people have their say. Consultative processes have been adopted, which enable all concerned to be involved in the decision-making process. Whole school planning is also practiced and can include people from outside the immediate school community.
Our schoolÂ
Kalianna School is a special school catering to the needs of around 200 students between the ages of 5 to 18 years. The school is currently divided into two distinct learning centres - one for Primary Years and the other for Senior Years.
At Kalianna School, the Victorian Curriculum serves as the fundamental basis for all academic programs offered to students aged between 5 to 16 years. Additionally, students aged between 16 to 18 years work towards achieving the Victorian Pathways Certificate, which serves as a stepping stone towards their future academic and professional endeavours.
Our team of experienced educators and staff work tirelessly to create an inclusive, supportive, and safe learning environment for all students. We believe in empowering our students with the necessary skills and knowledge to help them navigate through life's challenges and emerge as confident and responsible individuals.
At Kalianna School, we take pride in our commitment to providing personalised attention and tailored learning programs that cater to the unique needs of each student. Our goal is to help our students reach their full potential and become successful contributors to society.
