Reflection:
This course prepared me for writing an action-based research paper. There were several different tasks we completed throughout this course. We processed information through Flipgrid video discussions. We were quizzed over content read through the textbook. And we completed online tasks that helped build up to our final research paper. The course provided information regarding conducting quantitative and qualitative research. It also was very thorough in explaining the research process.
The ongoing project for the class continued to build to a final project of the action-based research paper. This included gathering both quantitative and qualitative data, conducting literature reviews, and analyzing data collected. My research paper covered "Gamification Based Assessment for the Reduction of Test Anxiety." I discovered through my research project that game-based assessments increased my students overall scores by 8 points versus the traditional written assessments.
