LT 712: Instructional Technology for Active Learning- Summer 2024 - 3 credits
Course Description: This course provides an overview of the application of teaching and learning theories for diverse audiences. The focus will be on creating learning environments that are learner-centered; emphasizing individual and technological approaches to the acquisition, processing, and application of information from a variety of sources.
Key Takeaways: The most important thing that I learned from this course was that when learners are involved in a project rather than a traditional lecture with a test at the end, they are more engaged. When learners are more engaged with content, they retain the information better. The final project for this course was a Project-Based Learning (PBL) unit plan. I was able to apply the concepts from this course in the final.Â
Artifact: Project-Based Learning Unit Plan
This PBL unit was created as a final project with the intention of implementing it within my role as a 6th-grade special education teacher to help learners garner further skills with research, data, and writing.
