Course Expectations:
Japanese 1 is an introductory course designed for beginning language learners or those with very limited exposure to the Japanese language. Students will develop basic proficiency in the four essential skills-listening, speaking, reading, and writing (hiragana, katakana, and a limited number of kanji). Students will also be exposed to Japanese culture through various activities and educational videos.
Japanese 2 is designed for students who passed the Japanese 1 level language proficiency and desire to develop their fluency in writing, reading, speaking and listening, and to continue their study of the Japanese culture and lifestyle. Students use their mastery of the katakana and hiragana characters learned in Japanese 1 and study more sentence structures and kanji.

I am a Roosevelt graduate and have been teaching at Roosevelt for 10 years.
