College and Career Readiness

getting you ready for anything...

Career and Technical Education has shown to have many positive affects on students and their future, such as the development of desirable employability skills, increased confidence, and a stronger understanding of workplace demands.

CTE Students are also significantly more likely than their non-CTE counterparts to say they developed problem-solving, project completion, research, math, college application, work-related, communication, time management, and critical thinking skills during high school. All of these outcomes contribute to the readiness of our CTE students, no matter what their post-high school plans.

"High school students involved in CTE are more engaged, perform better and graduate at higher rates".

  • Being enrolled in one CTE class for every two academic classes minimizes the risk of students dropping out of high school.

  • The national average high school graduation rate for students in CTE programs is 93%, compared to an average national graduation rate of 80%.

  • In Hawaii the overall gradution rate in 2019 was 85%, and Mililani High is above that average at 93%.

  • 91% of high school graduates who earned 2-3 CTE credits enrolled in college.
