This week in math we wrap up and assess the second half our unit on Chapter 2: Transformations. We will review dilations and similar figures as well as ratios of perimeters and areas. We will assess beginning of week before some delta review and the online delta assessment.

This week we start semester 2 of our algebra content. Chapter 6 is Exponent rules and it is split into two tests. for 6a, we will learn how to simplify exponents when they are multiplied, divided, and put to a higher power. We will also learn about fraction exponents and how they relate to the radical signs. We will work with exponent charts in order to solve and simplify equations without calculators.

This week we will wrap up our nonfiction reading unit. We are reading Four Perfect Pebbles by Lila Perl and Marion Blumenthal Lazan, a true story about a family who was greatly impacted by the Holocaust. Throughout this unit, we are building our knowledge and understanding of the Holocaust in order to better understand the story.
