Learning Targets - This week, we will continue reading Inside Out and Back Again. Throughout the week, we will discuss how Ha's life has changed since leaving Vietnam. We will also look at how various adults support her.

This week in science we will begin our next unit: Diversity of Life. After some introductory research projects before break, we will now dive in to the specifics of the diversity of life on earth. We will first start with organisms, learning the 8 characteristics of life and how to distinguish between living, non-living, and dead things. We will do some classroom exploration with some unknown materials and attempt to determine living or not.

Social Studies: We will finish our Roman Empire projects on Monday. We will then move to the advent of Christianity in the Roman Empire. We will discuss how Christianity transformed from a religion that was persecuted sporadically the the empire to its official religion. We will also discuss how God used Rome to further the spreading of His word.
