Wednesday & Thursday: Math MAP testing
What we're learning & doing in class: This week we will be starting a new unit about the early ministry of Jesus. We will begin our lessons with learning about John the Baptist and Jesus' Baptism.
Assignments/Assessment: Friday - Bible Memory (John 3:16-18)
Learning Targets: We will be MAP testing on Monday and Tuesday. Then we will be estimating and reviewing for our test the following week.
Homework: due the next day

Learning Targets: This week will continue to learn about the Earth's atmosphere. We will also begin to study how the water cycle fits into our atmosphere.
Assessment:
Learning Targets: This week we will discuss the Revolutionary War. How did the Continental Army win while having so many disadvantages?
Assessments: Unit 11 and 12 assessment TUESDAY
Reading/Writing: This week we will continue reading The Watsons Go to Birmingham by Christopher Paul Curtis, a historical fiction novel that is set in the 1960s. The story is told from the point of view of fourth-grader Kenny Watson. When Kenny and his family visit Birmingham, Alabama, he learns more about racial injustice and the Civil Rights Movement. In reading this novel, we will analyze characters, character relationships, and character development, among other important aspects of the book.
Homework:
Independently read for 20 mins at home (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and record on Reading Log
IXLs on Comma Rules (Smartscore of 80+) by next Tuesday: TT1, TT4, TT5, and TT6
Assessment:
Vocab assessment (wobble, delinquent, punctual, intimidate, frostbite, shrug, stagger, peon, mourning, overthrown, tolerate) on Friday
Band: There will be no instruments in class on Monday. Students should bring their music folders and pencil to write with to class still! Please continue to encourage your child to practice at home! Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will all be full band days in the band room.
Last we were able to get some great work done articulating a little faster as well as refining our accents (new articulation)! We will continue to through the TOE book and gaining proficiency on our sheet music Jester Dance and Dragon Slayer!
Because quite a few students were sick last week, I have decided to make last weeks practice record extra credit. We are back to normal for this week!
