CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT

What is Concurrent Enrollment?

"The College Connection Concurrent Enrollment Program is an enrichment program designed to provide current high school students, who are enrolled in the 9th grade or above, the opportunity to get an early start on their college education.

Students will receive college credit for all coursework successfully completed while still in high school, and in some courses, you can earn both high school and college credits." -- Skyline College Concurrent Enrollment Program

5 Steps to Concurrently Enroll

Enroll in a college-level class through a San Mateo County Community College, using Skyline College in the example:

1) Apply to Skyline: Skyline is an Open Access college, which means all students who apply are accepted. In 1-3 days, you will get an email that says "Welcome to Skyline." Within that email (at the bottom) is your G#, which is what Skyline calls your ID number.

2) Determine which class you would like to take by looking at the Course Catalog relevant for the semester that you intend to take classes. Course Catalogs typically become available to the public 1-2 months prior to the first day of classes for the semester. (Simply search “course catalog” and “Skyline College” into google to get started. Or click the Webschedule link for a way to search for classes.)

Choose which class works best for your schedule, then write the Course Registration Number (CRN) under the CRN column on your College Course Connection Request Form.

3) Complete Skyline's Placement Form if you are planning to take a Math, English, Economics and/or Chemistry course, linked here. You will need an unofficial transcript to complete the process. Email your School Counselor to request one. The first portion of the form is placing you for English, and the second part is placing you for Math. You must complete both portions even if you only plan to take a Math class.

4) Concurrently Enroll by completing the Concurrent Enrollment Form

Your parents must sign the form before asking a school personnel to sign the form. If you take a picture of the form, upload it to an email to your School Counselor, Vice Principal or Principal, they will sign it and scan it back to you.

Upload the signed form to your Websmart account

5) Register for the course that you chose during the registration window emailed to you by Skyline College.
