What is CaliforniaColleges.edu?

CaliforniaColleges.edu is a platform that JUHSD has partnered with to provide high school students and families the tools to match their interests and skills to postsecondary college and career opportunities. 

Students can take career assessments and use search tools to develop college, major, and career lists, write goals and journals, track activities, and read a variety of age-appropriate content to develop and expand their knowledge on all college, career, and financial aid planning topics. Students can also launch Cal State Apply, CCCApply, and FAFSA.

JUHSD has partnered with the California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI) to help students develop a well-informed college and career plan.

Registering/Logging on as a Student

Once registered, students can log in using their @jeffersonunion.net email and password. 

All Oceana students have a CaliforniaColleges account. 

Parents/guardians can register for an account.

CaliforniaColleges.edu gives students and families the tools to explore career interests, plan for college. and maneuver financial aid opportunities. Click through the College, Career and Financial Aid tabs for access to lots of information/tools! 

Academic Planner Tool 

Use the Academic Planner tool to plan what coursework you/your student plan to complete during their time at Oceana. 

Counselors and students use the Academic Planner to support students' 4-year planning. 

CSU/UC Eligibility Tool 

The CSU/UC Eligibility Tool helps you/your student track progress toward meeting eligibility to apply to a Cal State (CSU) or University of California (UC) college. 

College Search Tool 

Where you decide to go to college is an important decision, but where should you start your search? The best thing you can do is research and create a list of colleges that interest you. 


Use your CaliforniaColleges.edu account to research colleges and create a list of your favorites. This tool is designed to help you explore your college options and make an informed decision about which colleges are a good fit for you. You can use the search tool to learn about different colleges, including their admissions requirements, cost of attendance, degrees and majors, sports offerings, and more.    

Financial Aid 

Use the Financial Aid tab to access information about resources about accessing money to pay for college. There are 4 types of financial aid: Grants, Loans, Scholarships and Work Study. 

The Financial Aid resources in CaliforniaColleges.edu allows you launching you/your students FAFSA or California Dream Act (beginning October 1 of senior year).
