Students also will read, contemplate, discuss and analyze major issues in 21st-century journalism, such as libel, First Amendment Rights, responsible reporting and the integration of digital media.
While this course does integrate teaching strategies and writing, reading and communication skills that are also found in Language Arts classes, the Journalism course is taught within the context of fully functioning and self-sufficient news media organization. Therefore, all academic skills are developed with the goal of preparing students for careers in print journalism, online journalism, publicity and marketing.
