CONCENTRATOR COURSES
ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY 1A: ENGINEERING DESIGN
The Engineering Design class explores how engineering technology is used to solve manufacturing design problems, allowing for the production of precise, repeatable products that meet clients' specifications. Computer-aided design is used to control manufacturing equipment and communicate design ideas with clients and engineers. Students will design and manufacture products using laser cutters, 3D printers, vinyl cutters, and CNC milling machines. Additionally, students will learn how engineers use computer programming to control mechanical machines, such as robots, and other manufacturing and industrial equipment.
ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY 1B: ENGINEERING SUSTAINABILITY
In the Engineering Sustainability class, students explore options and design solutions to support our society's transition toward sustainable energy resources. Students will evaluate the benefits and costs of using electricity to power our society, including for electric cars, trucks, and scooters; home heating and cooling; and power. Students will be encouraged to engage in implementing proven solutions to community problems. Laboratory work will support students in testing, observation, analysis, prediction, and problem-solving.
CAPSTONE COURSE
ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY 2: ENGINEERING ELECTRONICS
The Engineering Electronics course is the capstone class for the Engineering Technology pathway. Students will explore the fundamentals of electronics, including circuit modeling in software, breadboard prototyping, and soldering components onto printed circuit boards.
