Steps

Phase 1

Students study UNESCO sites and heritage, with special focus on danger and potential threats due to over-tourism and to the enhancement od strategies for sustainable tourism.

This is a follow up of UNESCO CLIL modules done in previous years. Students are invited to consult works done by their older mates, to achieve competencies in presentation layout etc.

After presentation in plenary sessions, and fixing of mistakes, or improvement needed, students contribute directly to this website, adding their own contents in the section Destination of WHL.

Phase 2

Students study objective of agenda 2020. In each class, single students or couples will study a SDG, discovering how it could be applied to tourism (e.g. Goal 7: Affordable and clean energy, could be studied thinking of destinations using renewable energy based means of transport or in zero impact accommodations). Such enquiries will be presented to the class with multimedia, discussed in plenary sessions (in English).

Phase 3

Groups of students (different groups will be composed in order to enhance the knowledge transfer amongst peers), will create itineraries on the them "Travelling towards 2030", an itinerary based at least some of 2030 agenda SDGs. The itinerary should include transports, accommodations, sites to see, activities to do, local products to buy or initiatives to support, even after the end of the journey; it also should include costs and a communication kit (brochure, web site...)
