Teachers provided students with information about the role of UNESCO, with a special focus on the World Heritage List, the promoting and preserving activities of the World Heritage Committee and on the impact that the enrollment in the WH List means for a town or a region.

After the first introductory activities, the work of students consists in:
- choosing an item from the WH List
- understanding why the site/heritage is included; UNESCO WHL criteria
- studying the documents provided on the WHC web site (reports, Advisory Board evaluations...)
- at school, in the computer lab, with teachers as facilitators
- at home to fix layout, contents, language
- making a presentation to the class
