Insight PA encourages employees to refer candidates to our open positions. If the candidate is hired and completes a probationary period, the referring employee is eligible for a bonus.
Review the Referral Bonus Policy for more information. Already referred someone? Use this form to submit for your referral bonus.
Don't treat interviews as simply a question and answer session. Keep these best practices in mind:
Have a set of questions ready, but don't be afraid to go off script (to some degree)
See this page for guidance on what NOT to ask during an interview
Try to make the interview like a conversation. Ask targeted follow-up questions based on their answers. If their answers feel too scripted, ask them to elaborate.
Don't be afraid to "cut and run". If it's clear that a candidate will not be chosen, it's ok to shorten the interview.
The way you frame questions can really affect the answer/outcome. If you are excited about a candidate by their background, but that excitement falls flat during the interview, it might be because that person is a poor interviewee, not a poor candidate. You may also need to be more specific about what you're asking to newer teachers vs. veteran ones.
A bank of sample questions you can ask during your interviews.
Use this rubric to fairly judge each candidate's answers.
