本学教養学部4年の鈴木りゆか（すずきりゆか、メジャー：ジェンダー・セクシュアリティ研究、マイナー：政治学）さんが、日本政府代表団のユース代表として、3⽉11⽇（月）〜22⽇（金）にニューヨークの国連本部で開催された第68回国連女性の地位委員会（CSW68）に参加しました。
CSW68は「ジェンダーの視点からの貧困撲滅、機構強化、資金動員によるジェンダー平等達成と女性・女児のエンパワーメントの加速」を優先テーマに開催され、会期中は一般討論、閣僚級円卓会合、インタラクティブ・ダイアローグなどが行われます。鈴木さんはCSW68の公式会合にてスピーチするなど、日本政府代表団のユース代表として活躍しました。

東京都では200を越える企業・団体とともに、エシカル消費を推進するプロジェクト「TOKYOエシカル」を実施しています。2024年1月、ICU SDGs推進室がパートナー団体として新たにプロジェクトに参加することとなりました！今後はTOKYOエシカルが主催するイベントへの参加や他の参加企業・団体との連携を通じ、学内外のエシカル消費推進およびSDGs達成に向けた取り組みのさらなる推進を目指します。
As of January 2024, the ICU SDGs Promotion Office has joined the "TOKYO Ethical" project, which promotes ethical consumption, as a new partner organization!In the future, we aim to further promote ethical consumption and efforts to achieve the SDGs both on and off campus by participating in "TOKYO Ethical" events and collaborating with other participating organizations.

2023年12月8日、第26回人権セミナー「キャンパスハラスメントの防止について - ジェンダー・セクシャルハラスメント防止を中心に」が開催されました。このセミナーは、人権にかかわる啓発活動や相談活動を行っている本学の人権委員会と人権相談員連絡会が、毎年世界人権デー（12月10日）の前後に開催しています。
今年度は、公益財団法人21世紀職業財団 客員講師の清水知子氏を講師として迎えました。清水氏はキャンパスにおけるセクシュアルハラスメントを中心に、その特徴や背景、なぜ問題なのか、ケーススタディ、そしてキャンパスの全構成員が被害者にも加害者にも傍観者にもならないための防止策を講じました。
On December 8, 2023, the 26th Human Rights Seminar, entitled "Prevention of Harassment on Campus: With a Focus on the Prevention of Gender and Sexual Harassment" was held. This seminar is held every year around Human Rights Day (December 10) by the ICU Human Rights Committee and the Human Rights Advisory Board, which conduct educational activities and counseling regarding human rights.
This year's speaker was Tomoko Shimizu, a visiting lecturer at the Japan Institute for Women's Empowerment & Diversity Management. Ms. Shimizu's lecture focused on sexual harassment on campus, where she talked about the characteristics, background, and why sexual harassment is an issue, referring to case studies, and preventive measures so that all members on campus can avoid becoming victims, perpetrators, or bystanders.

ICU student wins first prize at 2023 Model UN Human Rights Council UPR

本学教養学部4年の大澤彩さん（おおさわ あや、メジャー：法学、マイナー：開発学）、渡部葵さん（わたなべ あおい、メジャー：国際関係学）、赤名裕大さん（あかな ゆうだい、メジャー：国際関係学、マイナー：経営学）が、8月25日に開催された2023模擬国連人権理事会UPR （普遍的・定期的レビュー）*1大会に出場し、優勝しました。Aya Osawa (Major/Minor: Law/Development Studies), Aoi Watanabe (Major: International Relations), and Yudai Akana (Major/Minor: International Relations/Business), all 4th-year students at International Christian University, participated in the 2023 Model United Nations Human Rights Council Universal Periodic Review (UPR) held on August 25, 2023. Representing Japan as the State under Review, the team of three won the first prize of the Outstanding Delegation Awards.

7月4日（火）、ICU学生による SDGｓ推進室フェアトレードプロジェクトチームが「ベネズエラのカカオ生産・チョコ作りワークショップ」を開催しました。イベント前半は、ラクパイ株式会社 代表アレックス氏より、ベネズエラのカカオ生産についてのレクチャーを受けました。レクチャーでは、世界でのカカオ消費の現状から、実際に取引をしているベネズエラのカカオ生産者の生活の様子に至るまで、多岐に渡るお話を聞くことができました。その中でも、ベネズエラの大学の支援によって、カカオ栽培の方法が改善され、それによりカカオの品質向上と取引拡大が成されたこと、その結果として、生産者の生活レベルも向上した、というお話がありました。イベント後半は、実際にベネズエラ産カカオを使用してチョコレート作りを行いました。カカオ豆に直に触れるのが初めての経験である参加者も多く、外側の殻を砕き、チョコレートの原料となる中身のカカオニブとよばれる部分を取り出すのに苦労する場面もみられました。
環境研究ポスターセッションが行われました

6月9日～14日まで、久しぶりに対面で、一般教育科目「環境研究」のポスターセッションが行われています。場所は4月にオープンしたばかりのトロイヤー記念アーツ・サイエンス館の交流スペース「ハブセントラル」。約150名が6名のグループに分かれ、「フードロス」「CO2削減」「絶滅危惧種」「海洋プラスチックごみ」「電子ごみ」「電気使用量の削減」「バーチャルウォーター」「森林破壊」「古着と環境」などのテーマを各自設定してポスターを作成し、ポスターを訪れた他の学生にむけて交代で2名がプレゼンしました。ポスターにはQRコードがあり、読み取ると、評価アンケートに接続する仕組みも。テーマの分析やポスターの完成度などの項目でお互いに評価しあっていました。

2023年5月25日(木)にシーベリーチャペルにおいて「平和の共同体として歩む〜メノナイト教会と和解の働き」というタイトルで対談セミナーが開催されました。主催はJICUFの助成金プログラムのひとつICU和解フォーラムで、平和研究所共催・宗務部後援のもと、30名近い学生、教員が集まりました。物理学の山崎歴舟准教授がインタビュアーとなり、国際法の専門家でありメノナイト神学校で学ばれたICU卒業生（35期）の片野淳彦氏からお話を聞きました。
The interview seminar, "Living as a Community of Peace: the Mennonite Church and the Work of Reconciliation" was held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the Seabury Chapel. The event was organized by one of JICUF's grant programs, the ICU Reconciliation Forum, and was co-hosted by the Peace Institute Research and the patronage of the ICU Religious Center. A total of approximately 30 students and faculty members attended the event.ICU's Associate Professor, Rekishu Yamazaki, whose area of expertise is in Physics, interviewed Mr. Atsuhiro Katano, a 35th ICU alumni who studied at the Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary and is an expert on international law.

本学教養学部3年の入口侑可（いりぐち ゆか、メジャー：人類学、マイナー：社会学）さんが 2022年度 第3回 SDGs「誰一人取り残さない」小論文コンテスト（主催：野毛坂グローカル）にて入賞しました。このコンテストは、SDGsの基本理念「誰ひとり取り残さない」という視点をすべてのSDGs活動や社会活動に反映すべきとの観点から、若者の自由な発想や提案、計画についての小論文や作文を求め、またその声を広く社会に発信することを目的として実施されたものです。
Ms. Yuka Iriguchi, a third-year student in the College of Liberal Arts at ICU, majoring in anthropology and minoring in sociology, was awarded a prize at the Third "SDGs 'Leave No-one Behind' Essay Competition" of AY2022 (Organizer: Nogezaka Glocal). From the standpoint that all SDGs activities and social activities should reflect the SDGs fundamental principle of leaving no-one behind, the competition's aim is to gather essays and compositions which feature the free ideas, suggestions and plans of young people and to subsequently transmit their voices to a wider public.

E-week最初のイベントとして、環境研究メジャーの藤沼良典先生が生物多様性の観点からICUの構内を歩くキャンパスツアー「ICU生物多様性ウォーク」を行いました。このイベントは、5月22日（月）のランチタイムに行われ、約40名の学生・職員が参加しました。約1時間、キャンパスの西側を中心に雑木林や竹林を散策しました。道中、藤沼先生から各エリアの生態系や大学がどのように手を加えているかに関する説明があり、参加者は熱心に耳を傾けていました。
As the first event of E-week, Prof. Ryosuke Fujinuma, teaching in the field of Environmental Studies at ICU led a campus tour "ICU Biodiversity Walk" around the ICU campus.This event took place during lunchtime on May 22, and was attended by about 40 students and staff. For about an hour, participants walked through wooded areas and bamboo groves, mainly on the west side of campus. Participants listened attentively to Professor Fujinuma's explanations about the ecosystems in each area and how the university is maintaining the areas.

Peacebuilding: A study tour of Okinawa

2023年3月15日（水）～17日（金）、本学のヴィンドゥ・マイ・チョタニ特任助教（政治学メジャーおよび社会科学研究所）が沖縄において平和について考えるスタディ・ツアーを主催しました。このスタディ・ツアーは日本国際基督教大学財団（JICUF）の助成を受け、学部科目PCS201 平和と人権を受講していた学生から選抜された7名が参加しました。
A peacebuilding study tour in Okinawa was organized by Vindu Mai Chotani (Assistant Professor by Special Appointment at the Social Science Research Institute and Department of Politics and International Studies, International Christian University), along with the support of project coordinator, Yuki Moritani (Research Institute Assistant, Social Science Research Institute, International Christian University. It was held between 15 (Wed.) and 17 March (Fri.), 2023, and attended by seven selected students from the undergraduate course 'PCS201 Peace and Human Rights'. This study tour was funded by the Japan International Christian University Foundation (JICUF).

2022年の3月に本学を卒業した 後藤 知美（ごとう ともみ、メジャー:心理学）さんと、本学 清水 安夫 上級准教授（専門分野：健康教育学、健康心理学 ほか）が、2023年3月に名古屋大学で開催された日本学校メンタルヘルス学会第26回大会にて、学部生時代に執筆した卒業論文が優秀と評価され、研究発表賞を受賞しました。
Tomomi GOTO (major: psychology), who graduated from ICU in March 2022, and Yasuo SHIMIZU (specialized fields: Health Education, Health Psychology, etc.), Senior Associate Professor of ICU, received a Research Presentation Award for Ms. Goto's excellent graduation thesis written as an undergraduate at the 26th Annual Conference of the Japan Association for School Mental Health held in Nagoya University in March 2023.

外交・国際公務員プログラム（DIPS）の枠組みで、国連研修が学生は対面、講義はハイブリッド形式の集中講座（大学院科目QPPI528 国連研修：持続可能な開発）として2023年3月10日、13～17日の約1週間、キャンパス内で開催されました。本来国連本部のあるアメリカ・ニューヨークを訪問し、現地での開催を予定していましたが、運賃高騰により、キャンパス内での開催となりました。国際機関で働きたい、又は関心があると考えている学部生、留学生を含む大学院生の計30人が参加しました。研修では、NY国連本部とナイロビ国連のガイド付きバーチャルツアー、国連本部・国連専門機関、外務省、現役在日大使、研究機関の方々など、14箇所から多様な視野・実務経験に富んだ専門家24人をゲスト講師に招いた講義と質疑応答が行われました。
The ICU-UN Seminar (GS course: QPPI528 United Nations Seminar on Sustainable Development) was held on campus under the auspices of the Diplomatic and International Public Service (DIPS) Program starting with the guided virtual tour at the UN Headquarter in NY on the 10th and another virtual tour at the UN Nairobi focused on Sustainable Forest Management in the mid-week. This year's Seminar benefitted from 23 lectures and interactive Q&A sessions from 13 to 17 March. It was an intensive course held in-person attended by 30 students, with speakers in a hybrid manner from 14 locations.

2023年2月24日三鷹市芸術文化センターにて、ウクライナ支援チャリティーコンサート～音楽と共に～が開催され、岩切正一郎学長とICUで学ぶ5名のウクライナ学生が招待されました。本演奏会は、ウクライナの人々が日々の生活や文化・スポーツを再び楽しむことができるよう、ウクライナ国の復興を強く願い、後押しするために開催されました。本企画の趣旨に賛同し、ステージにて素晴らしい演奏を披露くださった演奏家の皆様、観客として来場された皆様からの支援金をICUで学ぶ5名のウクライナ学生支援ためのご寄付として賜りました。
On February 24, 2023, "With Music", a Ukraine relief charity concert, was held at the Mitaka City Arts Center. ICU President, Shoichiro Iwakiri, and five Ukrainian students currently studying in ICU were invited to enjoy the concert.The concert was held as a result of a strong wish to support the reconstruction of Ukraine so that the people of Ukraine can once again enjoy their daily lives, culture and sports. The relief fund, which was raised by the musicians who supported this project and gave wonderful performances on stage, as well as the audience who attended the event, was donated to the five Ukrainian students currently studying at ICU.
