武蔵野「プレイス・フェスタ」に参加しました！
We  participated in Musashino "Place Festa" !

11/6に武蔵境駅前の武蔵野プレイスで開催された「プレイス・フェスタ」に参加しました！

この「プレイス・フェスタ」というイベントは、武蔵野文化生涯学習事業団が主催で「楽しむ、出会う、わかちあう」をテーマに、武蔵野市で活動している市民活動団体がワークショップを行います。


今回、私たちはSDGs推進室の活動を地域にも波及させる為、参加いたしました。
具体的には、フェアトレードに関するクイズを作って、お子さんから大人まで答えて頂き、フェアトレードの認知を広げていきました。

On November 6, the SDGs Promotion Office took part in the “Place Festa” at Musashino Place, just in front of Musashi-Sakai Station!

At this “Place Festa,” organized by the Musashino Foundation for Culture and Lifelong Learning, various civic groups active in Musashino City presented workshops under the theme “Enjoy, Meet, and Share.”

The SDGs Promotion Office participated in this event to spread our activities to local communities. 

In particular, we created a fair trade quiz and had everyone from children to adults answer the questions to raise awareness of fair trade.

フェアトレードとは？
直訳すると「公正・公平な貿易」です。もう少し砕いて説明すると、発展途上国との貿易で、フェアなトレード（公正な取引）をすることで、途上国の人々の生活を助けるしくみです。
フェアトレードを行うことで、現地の生産者は、生活が安定し貧困から抜け出すことが出来る、所得を増やす機会が得られるなどのメリットがあります。
かく言う消費者である私たちも、安心安全な商品が手に入る。企業においては、イメージアップや資金調達がしやすいなど様々なメリットがあります。

What exactly is Fair Trade?

In the literal translation, it’s “fair and equitable trade.”

Putting it another way, it’s a framework for supporting people in developing countries by properly buying and selling.

Fair trade benefits local producers by allowing them to stabilize their life, escape poverty, and increase their income. 

We, as consumers, can also enjoy the benefit of obtaining safe and reliable products.

Businesses can also reap various benefits, such as a better reputation and easier financing. 

また、上記以外にもフェアトレードむさしの様のフェアトレードバッグをスタンプで飾り付ける子ども向けワークショップのお手伝い、フェアトレードに関する絵本の読み聞かせも行いました。

In addition to the above activities, we assisted the Fairtrade Musashino’s workshop for children to embellish fair trade bags with stamps and read picture books about fair trade.

SDGs推進室の気づきは、そもそも「フェアトレードって何ですか？」という声がとても多かったことです。
フェアトレードとは何か？というコアの部分を伝えることで、地域により根差した活動も広げられると運営しながら考えました。
また今回の活動とは関係はないですが、武蔵野地域にさまざまな方が集まっているイベントで、改めてもっとこの地域のことを知って関わって行きたいと感じた1日でした。

This time, we at the SDGs Promotion Office discovered that many citizens are unfamiliar with the concept of fair trade and asked, “What is fair trade?”

While participating in the event, we realized that by promoting the concept of fair trade, we would be able to expand our efforts for SDGs to include more local community members. 

This is slightly off-topic, but this event brought together a diverse group of Musashino residents, and these gatherings invigorated us to get to know more about our community and interact with them.
