term-length programs advising
Best practices and advising resources
Study abroad advising and administration is decentralized at UIUC - study abroad programs are administered by college international offices like LAS International Programs, but most programs are open to all students regardless of their home college.
Student Advising:
LAS students should always start by meeting with an LAS International Programs advisor and their academic advisor before choosing a program.
Students should schedule an advising appointment with LASIP staff online or stop by our walk-in advising hours Monday - Thursday 1 pm - 4:30 pm in 3070 Lincoln Hall.
Effective Fall 2023, all approved study abroad programs are considered to be in residence including at the advanced level. Courses articulated at the 300 and 400 level fulfill the campus and major residency requirements. Individual course articulations are at the discretion of the academic unit articulating the coursework. See our Academic Policy page for more info on credit, grades, etc.
Course approvals: please know that campus is in the process of purchasing a new software system to better manage course approvals. In the meantime, please continue to direct students and 299 advisors to these guidelines and procedures.
