International Day of Women and Girls in Science

According to UNESCO, at present less than 30% of researchers worldwide are women, and only about 30% of female students actually select STEM-related fields in higher education. In order to celebrate women and girls who are leading innovation in science and technology, and to promote their participation towards achieving gender equality, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution in December 2015 and declared February 11 as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. IIT Jodhpur organized a talk by Dr. Suchetana Chakraborty, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering on the occasion where she shares her journey and research highlights. IIT Jodhpur premiered this talk on the occasion of International Women's Day!
