InterNational Women's Day

International Women's Day Celebrations 2021 at IIT Jodhpur included an invited talk by Ms. Archana Kapoor, a Delhi-based filmmaker and community media specialist. The Photography Club of IIT Jodhpur, Shutterbugs, also organized an inter-college Photography Contest AINDRI - IN FRAMES on this occasion, whose results would also be announced during the event.


About the Invited Speaker

Ms. Kapoor is the Founder / Director of a not-for-profit- SMART and Radio Mewat, a Community Radio operating in Nuh, since 2010. She also founded The Radio Festival in 2018, the only radio festival in India that brings together all stakeholders on one platform to celebrate sound. She has developed and co-authored a toolkit on Sustainable Development Goals: Communicating the SDGs: A toolkit for Community Radio. She has worked with over 200 CR stations in the country and abroad and is a strong voice in the community media sector. Archana has won several awards for her work with women in marginalized and conflict areas. These include two National Awards, the Devi Award instituted by the Sunday Standard, and she has been featured in the Vodafone Coffee Table book as a Woman of Substance, in the series’ Tejaswini’ on Women achievers by Doordarshan, and in a similar program on All India Radio. She has been honored by Amity University and Sharda University.
