Greetings, delegates!
My name is Sarina Tsai, a senior at Asia American International Academy, and it is with great pleasure that I welcome you as your President of the Security Council at IISMUN I. This will be my twenty-first MUN conference and my ninth time chairing. I began my MUN journey in 7th grade as a nervous delegate, intimidated by the powerful voices that filled my committee room. Fortunately, with the help of my chairs and peers, I overcame the obstacles I faced, ending my first conference with a newfound eagerness to continue challenging myself. I pushed myself to speak more with each passing conference and soon began to enjoy the intense crossfires, forming alliances with delegations and bringing about a sense of unity. I have since expanded my knowledge of global issues, founded a love for public speaking, and created several long-lasting friendships. Outside of MUN, I enjoy singing, dancing, and reading dystopian fantasy. MUN has fueled my passion for debate and truly shaped who I am today, and I hope to spread my love for MUN to you all. See you at IISMUN I!
Greetings Delegates! My name is Leo Yeh, a junior from Dominican International School, and it is my pleasure to serve as your deputy president for Security Council this year. This marks my 17th conference and 6th time chairing.
I have started my MUN journey as a shy delegate and I clearly remember how scary it was to speak in front of the house for the first time. Therefore, I can fully understand the challenges you could face during the conference. I would do my absolute best to be approachable and help anyone step outside of their comfort zones. I encourage you to participate actively and attentively during the conference.
Participating in MUN helped me become more aware of my surroundings and the world I live in. It enhances my understanding of current issues such as global warming, cultural distinction, artificial intelligence, and a variety of other topics. Participating in MUN also gave me invaluable insight into current international relations and the value of cooperation in addressing global issues.
During my leisure time, I usually enjoy playing some video games, hanging out with my friends, playing golf, and sleeping. Please do not hesitate to contact me at 1800075@dishs.tp.edu.tw or leo.yeh_ (my instagram) if you have any questions! Looking forward to y’all soon.
