Greetings, delegates! My name is Daniel Yang, a senior at St. Dominic Catholic High School Cambridge International Programme, and I am truly honored to serve as your President for the Human Rights Council. IISMUN I marks my seventh conference and third time chairing.
Although my Model United Nations journey only started in 10th grade, I hoped I had started earlier, as I immediately became captivated by the intriguing debate attributed to the dissimilar perspectives of various countries. For me, MUN is not only connected to advocating your stance but also fostering cross-delegate connections and establishing a consensus. Running the MUN program at my school for two years, I am eager to spread my enthusiasm and passion with all of you during the conference.
In my spare time, if I’m not sitting in front of my laptop and researching MUN topics, you’ll probably see me immersed in Disney animations or listening to fireworks soundtracks (underrated in my opinion). I also love conducting scientific research and making videos about airplanes.
No matter if this is your first conference or your last, I truly hope that IISMUN I will be one of the most memorable conferences. I can’t wait to meet you all in December!
Hello guys! I’m Olivia Chang, a freshman from Kang Chiao International School Xiugang Campus. I will be serving as your Deputy President in the Human Rights Council at the upcoming IISMUN conference. This will be my second time chairing.
Looking back on my MUN journey, I still remember how nervous and overwhelmed I felt during my first conference. But that experience also motivated me to keep going, to improve, and eventually turned MUN into something I genuinely enjoy and look forward to.
Aside from MUN, I enjoy playing the piano, making art, watching Netflix, gaming on Minecraft and Brawl Stars, and obsessing over SZA.
To all new delegates: don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, try submitting as much amendments as you can, or even making impromptu speeches, and soon you'll be surprised how quickly you grow into a confident speaker. With that being said, I look forward to meeting all of you in December and feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
