I am Iris Yeh, a senior at Hong Wen International School, with the utmost honor to serve as your Head Chair for Crisis. IISMUN would mark my 19th conference, few of the final stops in my MUN journey. As a senior taking few last glances at MUN, I hope all delegates could have a fun and inspiring time at the Crisis Committee. In my humble opinion Crisis is where all the magic happens—chaos, diplomacy, and a lot of under table planning. No matter you’re new to Crisis or you’re advanced, I ensure you, this year’s crisis will be a daring and fascinating experience. I am keen to see you all in December!
I’m Michael, a junior at Dominican International School, and I’m beyond excited to serve as your Deputy President for IISMUN I. This will be my fourteenth MUN conference and my second time chairing the Crisis Committee.
I started MUN back in freshman year, and yes, my first conference was a disaster. But I kept showing up, and somewhere along the way, I fell in love with the chaos of debate and the thrill of diplomacy. MUN sparked my interest in political science, international relations, and everything that involves speaking out and stepping up. Whether this is your first conference or you’re already a seasoned delegate, I hope you leave this conference with new skills and new memories and perhaps even make some new friends along the way.
When I’m not deep in MUN prep, you’ll probably find me grinding IEO, faking injuries to escape swimming practice, and doomscrolling on TikTok way past midnight. Feel free to reach out with questions or concerns about MUN or other stuff; you can find me on Instagram @mc_chen128.
Can’t wait to meet you all in December!
Hello there. My name is Anderson, a senior from Hsinchu County American School, and I will be one of your crisis directors this year. This conference will be my second conference as a chair, and my 20th conference overall. I’ve dedicated my MUN career to chase bigger and better debate, but in my last year, I thought it might be nice to diversify my experiences. Crisis has always intrigued me, a great mix of chaos and creativity. In my free time I like to cook and grill meat, a hobby which also takes a decent bit of chaos and creativity. I look forward to seeing y’all at the conference, I hope y’all have fun.
Hello, Delegates! I'm Nichole Lin, from Kang Chiao International School Linkou Campus, and it's a great honor for me to serve as your crisis director at this year's IISMUN I. This is my third year participating in MUN, my 10th conference, and my third time at the crisis committee. Crisis has always been my favorite committee because of its special procedures and the excitement at every crisis update. At my first few conferences, I hesitated before speaking because I wasn't certain about the procedures and was afraid that my amendments might not be as impactful as other delegates'. However, soon I found out that the true fun in MUN can only be experienced if I am willing to join the intense debates or form alliances and friendships with other delegates. At last, I realize that MUN is not something you should feel pressured about. Instead, it is like one of your hobbies, in which you can learn about global issues, participate in solving them through intense debates, meanwhile making new friends. MUN made public speaking an effortless task for me, and it has been part of my life ever since. I hope that you feel the same way as I do about MUN, and if you haven't, I am excited to create a memorable experience for you at this year's IISMUN I. See you soon!
