School Recycled Garden
School Recycled Garden
In a testament to the philosophy that nothing is truly waste, we embarked on a project to create a garden using recycled materials as pots. Embracing the concept of repurposing, we transformed discarded waste tins, bins, containers, car tyres and even an old bicycle into unique and vibrant plant containers. The once overlooked items were given a new lease on life, contributing not only to sustainability but also showcasing the beauty that can emerge from unconventional sources. This garden stands as a living example of how a creative perspective can turn what some might consider trash into a flourishing and visually appealing green space. It underscores the idea that with ingenuity and a commitment to reuse, any material can find a purpose beyond its initial use, promoting a sustainable approach to gardening and living.
In Alcover we have used a lot of waste material in order to organize a little greenhouse to plant and grow some trees and vegetables. We have also used waste material as paper, bottles and others in order to make the pots to plant the seeds. Most of the implements that we used in our garden are reused or repurposed. And the soil too. It comes from the compost we have made a year before.
SCHOOL RECYCLED GARDEN IN GIMNAZIJA NOVA GRADIŠKA
We have gathered waste containers (plastic bottles, wooden crates...) and organised them into flower beds or vegetable pots – preparing them for the spring (some seeds have been seeded already in November and December)
School recycled garden in the Italian school was created by the students of different classes working in teams, taking turns, using recycled pots. The vases form the shape of a PI Greek, in view of a visual identification of our course of studies. Seeds and plants are the ones typical of our areas and their properties and characteristics were introduced and explained by the science teachers in collaboration with knowledgeable students. Teams of pupils take care of watering and nurturing the plants, taking turns.
