WHAT IS TIME TO ACT GREEN?
IT IS AWARENESS OF OUR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT, that we live in a complex environment, from which we cannot isolate ourselves or not know. We cannot ignore him without ignoring ourselves. We cannot damage it without damaging ourselves.
IT'S ALSO ACTION, in this project we have done a lot of things in different areas: biodiversity, food, climate change, resources such as water and energy and also in waste management. These actions have had a positive impact on the environment, which has been visible in the short term and will be even more so in the long term.
TIME TO ACT GREEN IS KNOWLEDGE. We have recovered traditional knowledge that allows us to manage the territory sustainably and of kilometer 0. We have also shared knowledge with university professors, with Professor Hydaiet's webinar, we have acquired knowledge of languages and we have also generated knowledge, such as what we they have provided the award-winning work of Aleix Sans on the Institute's connection with the Biomass power plant and Sandra Casas on the filtration of nitrates by plants.
THIS PROGRAM IS A REFLECTION ON CONSUMPTION, on how we consume or waste valuable resources simply because we don't stop for a moment, on how we generate waste that can affect nature in an irreversible way if we don't manage it properly. We need to continue working on the issue of plastic and single-use packaging to avoid unnecessary and avoidable pollution.
IT'S ALSO SHARING. We have shared this experience with teachers and students from other countries, who have shown us that the borders that some want between us do not last even a minute when there is a smile, a kind gesture or some sincere and heartfelt words. We must continue to make Europe, but it must be a Europe for sharing and collaboration.
IT'S CLEARLY FUTURE. It is a seed planted in our institute that is germinating, that like a tree will grow and bear fruit. It is also a seed planted in us that, with patience, time and the right encouragement, will enable us to actively participate in conserving, maintaining and improving our environment, for us and the generations to come.
TIME TO ACT GREEN IS NETWORK.
With your help we have obtained material that has allowed us to develop our plans.
• Thanks to Cator and Expomat, we were able to collect the water.
• Thanks to the Alcover Town Council and especially to the Municipal Dump, we have obtained reused material which, for example, has allowed us to make the landscaped hedgerows.
• Thanks to Cantera la Ponderosa and Excavacions Pere Martí, and to Relleu i Entorn we had stones that have allowed us to build our margins and knowledge to make them.
• Thanks to Q.Verd Jardiners we have had containers that have allowed us to manage waste and transport material from our garden.
• Thanks to the association for the Conservation of Natural Ecosystems, we have learned data about the environment, plastic and invasive species that have allowed us to become aware of the danger and consequences of apparently harmless actions.
• Thanks to the members of the green school committees, who with their work have made it possible to build this reality, and to the green delegates, who try to manage environmental issues at class level.
But we would like to go further. We would like to be able to continue counting on you, for future projects, such as climate resilience, which we want to achieve by planting native deciduous species, such as the hawthorn and the vine and generating shade for the summer, so necessary in a context of global warming
But we don't just want to ask, we also want to offer. We want to offer ourselves as an Institute to collaborate in any project that has a positive impact on our environment.
For all this, thank you, thank you very much.
