A composter system was created by TTAG students of the Liceo Scientifico, using recycled materials (pallets); it was first assembled, then lined inside with a netting mesh and finally filled in. It is regularly fed by the students and some teachers either with school self-produced waste (green waste, leaves, twigs) or with biological waste from home such as fruit peel and other vegetable stuff. No meat waste is introduced into the compost to prevent mice and other unwelcome guests from hanging around the school. Students are very keen on taking care of their “compostiera”, being proud of their creation and having learned a useful green lesson for life.
