From February 5th to 9th, 2024, Gimnazija Nova Gradiška hosted partners from the Time to Act Green Erasmus+ program on the second transnational project meeting. The objectives of this project are to raise awareness about environmental issues such as global warming, climate change, sustainability, and to exchange green practices among schools.

After the initial presentations of the host and guest schools the participants visited the town council and were warmly welcomed by Nova Gradiška’s mayor, mr. Vinko Grgić and his associates who presented the BIOSOL project - solar power plant. Afterwards the project participants were presented the ways Nova Gradiška’s waste management company ECO-KONG is trying to improve its services and to raise awareness of Nova Gradiška’s citizens in the field of sustainability, waste management and ecological way of life.

The students and teachers from the host and guest schools were welcomed in the Industrial Park on Nova Gradiška, in CEKOM - Centre for competences for advanced engineering and took part in an interesting workshop "From Idea to Entrepreneurial Story" - they heard a story about utilizing PET bottles to create new products.

In the afternoon of the very eventful first day all students and teachers took part in an art workshop, where they all together created a unique work of art - using waste to create an installation with the message TEMPUS FUGIT, which is to warn all of us that time is running out and we must hurry up to preserve and save our planet from an ecological disaster which is inevitable if we do not act fast.

On the second day, the guests and their hosts were taken to the Recycled Estate Vukomerić, where they participated in a workshop on transforming old clothing and plastic into new products they can use in everyday life.

The guests and their hosts enjoyed an interesting guided tour full of facts and history about Zagreb, an historic and modern city at once.

Visiting Arteco
On the final day of the meeting, they visited the ARTECO Pavletić Estate in Malino for a workshop on scientific experiments demonstrating how to transform waste into a product.

All of us enjoyed a l0t the farewell party of the mobility. Thanks a lot croatian hosts, their families and Gimnazia Nova Gradiška's teachers.
