School-Based Dental Clinic
NYU Langone
We’re excited to introduce the NYU Langone Dental Program offered right here at Ditmas. Here’s why it’s a fantastic choice for our students:
Convenience at Your Fingertips: The dental clinic is located within the school, making it easy for your child to access care without leaving their usual environment.
Trusted Expertise: Our dentists come from NYU Langone, ensuring high-quality care from a reputable source.
Never Miss an Appointment: We handle the scheduling! Your child will receive reminders for check-ups and cleanings every six months.
Proactive Follow-Ups: If additional treatments are needed, such as for cavities, we’ll be on top of it to ensure your child maintains healthy teeth.
Weekly Availability: No need to search for appointments—our dentist visits the school once a week for ultimate convenience.
Cost-Free Care: We accept all insurance plans, and any co-pays or extra costs are covered, so you won’t pay anything out of pocket.
Encouraging Dental Health Education: With services onsite, students can easily learn the importance of dental care and get treatment in a comfortable setting.
We’re Here for You: Our dental team is always available to answer any questions about enrollment or treatments.
We believe this program offers amazing benefits for our students’ health and peace of mind for you as parents. If you have any questions or need further information, please reach out. We’re here to help!

Oral Health
Oral health – the health of your mouth — is an important part of good overall health and well-being. Nationally, about 1 of 4 adults have untreated tooth decay and nearly half of adults have gum disease. Oral health problems are common among New Yorkers. More than 1 of 3 third grade children in NYC have untreated tooth decay. By taking simple measures, most oral health problems can be prevented. Preventing oral health problems can reduce health care expenses.
Family Health Centers at NYU Langone / School-Based Dental Health
Our new School-Based Dental Clinic (SBDC) will provide preventative and restorative services for Ditmas I.S. 62 students. Services include: dental exams, oral hygiene instructions, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, fillings and simple extractions.
This program has been operating for over 25 years and currently provides dental services in over 40 schools throughout New York City.
The SBDC can serve as your child's Primary Dental Provider (PDP) or compliment services provided by an outside dentist. We provide scheduled and walk-in services while school is in session as well as telephone coverage to assist with problems that arise when the SBDC is closed.
