Disciplinary Procedures

DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES

In the event of a serious misconduct involving coaches at any SGIS competition, the following procedure and line of communication should be followed:


  1. Coaches report any incident to their Sports/Athletic Director

  2. Sports/Athletic Director sends report to Tournament Director

  3. Tournament Director seeks for further evidence from participating schools and informs the concerned school’s Sports/Athletic Director and the SGIS Sports Chair

  4. SGIS Sports Chair communicates with SGIS Sports Committee and, if incident warrants, informs Directors Sports Liaison

  5. Concerned school’s Sports/Athletic Director investigates the incident at his/her school and reports back to Tournament Director and SGIS Sports Chair

  6. SGIS Sports Chair will inform SGIS Sports Committee and discuss if further disciplinary sanctions within the SGIS group should apply

  7. If incident warrants, SGIS Sports Chair will report back to Directors Sports Liaison and recommend disciplinary sanctions

  8. If incident warrants, Directors Sports Liaison will address the incident with the Directors Executive and approve sanctions if they deem necessary

  9. SGIS Sports Chair would inform the concerned school’s Sports/Athletic Director of sanctions approved by the Directors Executive
