Mae'r awdures Elin Meek yn defnyddio 'Doeddwn i ddim' llawer o weithiau yn y bennod hon. Edrychwch ar y tabl isod sy'n dangos y ffyrdd o negyddu 'Roeddwn i / Roeddet ti / Roedd e' ac ati.

The author Elin Meek uses the negative form 'I was not' a lot in this chapter. Look at the table below which shows how to change 'I was / You were / He was' etc to the negative form.

Challenge: Read the passage below and turn the underlined parts into the negative form. How about doing this orally on 'Seesaw'?

Defnyddio dyfynodau mewn brawddegau:

Rydym yn defnyddio dyfynodau i ddangos fod rhywun yn siarad mewn testun. Mae'r dyfynodau yn cael eu gosod ar ddechrau ac ar ddiwedd beth mae rhywun yn ei ddweud, fel brechdan. Sylwch bod y ferf yn dod yn syth ar ôl ac yna pwy sy'n siarad.

Using speech marks in writing:

We use speech marks to show that someone's speaking in a text. Speech marks are placed at the beginning and the end of what someone says, just like a sandwich. Notice that the verb comes straight after closing the speech sentence and then who says the sentence.

Tasg 1: Ychwanegwch ddyfynodau at y brawddegau hyn. Chwiliwch am y ferf 'odd' fel cymorth i wybod ble i gau'r dyfynodau. Gweler yr enghraifft isod.

Task 1 : Place the speech marks in these sentences. Look for the verb for some guidance to know where to close the speech mark. Please see the example below.

1) "Helo a chroeso," dywedodd yr athrawes.

(Hello and welcome, said the teacher.)

2) Barod neu beidio, dyma fi'n dod! gwaeddodd Alys.

(Ready or not here I come! shouted Alys.)

3) Beth am i ni fynd i'r sinema? gofynnodd Lawson wrth ei ffrind Finley.

(How about we go to the cinema? asked Lawson to his friend Finley.)

4) Mae cinio'n barod, cyhoeddodd Mrs Masterton yn neuadd yr ysgol.

(Dinner's ready, announced Mrs Masterton in the school hall.)

5) Rwyt ti mor ddoniol Isla! chwarddodd y merched wrth chwarae.

(You are so funny Isla! laughed the girls whilst they played.)

6) Stopia fod yn anghwrtais! gorchmynnodd Miss Evans.

(Stop being so rude! ordered Miss Evans.)

7) Rwy'n caru ti, sibrydodd Sali Mali wrth Jac y Jwc.

(I love you whispered Sali Mali to Jac y Jwc.)

Deialog yw sgwrs siarad rhwng dau neu fwy o gymeriadau. Mae llawer iawn o ddeialog mewn llyfrau er mwyn i ni helpu dod i adnabod y cymeriadau trwy sut a beth maen nhw'n dweud.

A dialogue is a conversation between two or more people. Dialogues are used in books so we can get to know the characters by what and how they say things.

Yn y bennod hon, mae Ffion yn teimlo'n drist iawn nad yw hi wedi llwyddo i wneud y sgiliau rygbi yn gywir. Mae angen iddi newid ei ffordd o feddwl.

In this chapter, Ffion feels sad that she hasn't had any success with the rugby skills. She needs to change her mindset.
