Think Mark

Think Marks

Using Think Marks is a great way to get learners to engage with a piece of text. It requires them to demonstrate their thoughts, either working independently or as a pair.

A selection of digital activities and resources which can be used to engage your learners. The above resources can also be shared with learners electronically, to be completed independently or collaboratively.

Jamboard

Learners can use the 'Y- Your Learning' Jamboard to inform you about their learning. Ask your learners to post a sticky note onto the Jamboard, telling you how engaged they are in their learning, and suggest ways in which they can be further engaged. As practitioners, you may wish to create a new Jamboard for this task or continue using an exisiting Jamboard as shown in the 'Dysgu Digidol' Jamboard Example.

Adobe Spark Video

Multimedia videos, such as Adobe Spark, are an effective way to 'hook' and engage your learners. As practitioners, you can create exciting videos which set the scene and context for the learning, providing key information which allow learners to create their own success criteria. Videos can be shared in class or remotely via links.

Flipgrid

Flipgrid allows you , as practitioners, to 'flip the learning.' Opportunities can be provided which allow your learners to learn about a topic or theme independently, outside of the classroom environment. As practitioners, you can share pre-recorded videos with your learners - activating prior knowledge, deepening understanding, developing thinking, discovering learners' interests and fostering a fun and supportive social learning environment. Time in class can then be spent on moving the learning forward, through a learner- centred approach.
