Ysgol Y Moelwyn is a Welsh-medium secondary school for 11-16 year old students situated in the historic mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog in Gwynedd. Our catchment area includes the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, Tanygrisiau, Manod, Llan Ffestiniog, Maentwrog, Gellilydan and Trawsfynydd.
Ysgol Y Moelwyn is a school which cares for its pupil and is deeply invested in the local community. Every child is valued and given the opportunity to develop their skills and talents. The Governors of the school, the Head Teacher and all staff are committed to providing a good foundation for every pupil.
In Ysgol Y Moelwyn your child will receive:

We will be presenting our new Curriculum to year 7 in September 2022 which will be based on the requirements and principles of Curriculum for Wales. This website aims to outline our vision and intentions regarding the curriculum as well as provide an idea of its content.
