History of Our School

Baglan primary school opened on 19th February 1952.

Here is the original floor plan of Baglan primary school.

The school originally had an Infant department and a Junior department. The original Junior department is now used as offices as the Neath Port Talbot Education Centre.

The Infant and Junior schools amalgamated in September 1981.

Here is a photograph of the opening of Baglan primary school on 19th February 1952. The school cost £110,000.

Pictured is County Alderman J Jones Edwards receiving the key for the new school from the County Architect, Mr L R Gower.

Also present in the photograph are Mayor, Councillor Richard Evans, County Alderman Llewelyn Heycock, Mrs Edwards and other county councillors and officials.
