Baglan House
Baglan House was originally Tir y Croft but was extended and renamed in 1799 to Baglan House. The Earl of Jersey sold Baglan Hall, Baglan House, the East and West lodges.
The house was demolished in the 1950s. The house was situated at the top of Thorney Road. The Earl of Jersey made a road adjourning Vernon House in Briton Ferry to Baglan House as he wouldn't allow the ladies in the family to walk past the disreputable ale house - the Traveller's Rest! Hence the name - The Ladies Walk in the photograph below
