Here is the programme for our 2023-24 project, Castle on the Hill. As part of the project, pupils learnt about Plas Baglan and Neath castle as well as other castles in Wales. Pupils learnt about The Normans and what castle life was like during these times.

Here are pupils taking part in a cynefin workshop with Heritage Education Officer, Harriet Eaton. Foundation Phase pupils learnt about Neath Castle and what life would have been like in the Norman times. Key Stage Two pupils learnt about Plas Baglan and Welsh Kings during the Norman times.
Medieval Class Banquets
Foundation Phase pupils took part in a Medieval Class Banquet. Pupils had created their own crowns and head pieces, dressed in party clothes and ate foods that were often eaten during the Norman times. Pupils had a fantastic time, amser bendigedig!
Cardiff Castle
Here are photographs of the Key Stage Two trip to Cardiff castle. We had a tour of the castle, learnt about when Cardiff castle was built, the owners over the years and how Cardiff castle is used today. We dressed up in armour and walked through the wartime shelters.
