Selected children from Key Stage 2 took part in the Activity Festival run by the Howard School Sports Partnership. The sessions were aimed at children with special educational needs and reluctant PE participants - it was a huge success.
Children learnt how to play volley-glide, a sport similar to volley ball but it is played sat on your bottom and you use a balloon rather than a ball! The children learnt how to move around efficiently, without leaving the floor, and use different body parts to send and receive the balloon with increasing control and accuracy.
It was fantastic to see all the children having so much fun and how much their confidence grew during the session; there were many big smiles and lots of laughter.
The children really impressed Helen and Evie, who ran the session, and everyone earned a well deserved medal and Medway Sport T-shirt.
A big well done to everyone!
Interventions are an important way to ensure that all our children are appropriately supported to make progress. Interventions come in many different forms and are used to support children academically, socially, and with their mental health and wellbeing.
