Year 5 has had an extremely busy term.
We began with Poetry Week, where we studied The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes. The class seemed to love the poem and everybody did very well taking part in a performance of each stanza - combining both the recital and non- locomotor movements that we had been learning about in PE.
Ukulele lessons have continued this term and the class have done very well in developing their musical skills, alongside the clever concentration skills that we have been taught using our thumb and index finger.
In P.E we have been studying a unit of dance, where we have been learning about bollywood dance. This has resulted in pupils choreographing their own dance routines in small groups and evaluating and reflecting on the work of their peers.
In the last two weeks, we have been visited by two local artists who have supported the class to produce large flowers, using canes, paper and glue. This has been an extremely good team-building activity and I am impressed by both the teamwork and leadership skills that have emerged. We hope to see you at the Festival of Lights in Chatham on Friday, where our work is due to be part of both the parade and the installation.
Thank you once again for all your support and we wish you all a lovely half term.
