Year 1 - Berners-Lee Class

Berner’s Lee have had a fantastic term and been on many learning journeys!

We began our term creating beautiful poems inspired by the works of Michael Rosen which we even published in our own class book. Towards the end of our term, we created stories based on the picture book, ‘Journey’ and have been very imaginative when creating our own settings, problems to solve and using adjectives to make our stories fantastic. We enjoyed our research into London and had great fun drawing its famous landmarks. In Maths, we had a blast on Number Day, creating our own versions of, ‘1 is a Snail and 10 is a Crab’ and continued to develop our understanding of addition and subtraction with numbers to 20.  One of our favourite activities this term included learning all about the life and adventures of  James Cook and creating our own paper boats. Some of us even took great pictures of us testing our boats at home.
