This has been a very busy term in Adams Class. We have been developing a range of skills to help us develop our knowledge and understanding of our local habitats and the wider world.
Science and Geography Skills - by Eloise and Tommy
We are learning about the environment around us and around the world. We thought about how to keep it clean and not littering. Mrs Sentkovsky has been helping us do it as well as Mrs Jonhson teaching us central ideas to help understand the world and living things. We also have been learning about history and the skills needed when we look at evidence and how we all have different opinions. We made bread in DT as our main ideas.
English - by George
In English we wrote letters encouraging Mr Etheridge to help us keep our school clean so we can be more diverse. We also read about Akimbo and the elephants and wrote our own stories about saving the animals in different habitats around the world. I was saving the monkeys.
Maths- by Maddie and George
Maths is very fun and challenging so it’s not too easy for us, we are learning about perimeter and area at the moment.
We spent lots of time learning our times table and looked at some different methods to record this in our books. Some methods were easy and some were hard. We have been on TTRS to do soundchecks. We are doing table games so we can get better in maths.
Secondary lessons - by Freddie and Kyran
Secondary lessons are fun. In music we are learning the recorder and most of us have never heard of the songs we are playing so sometimes this can be hard. In PE, we learn new skills like rugby. We’ve looked at passing and teamwork.
Next term we'll continue to focus on learning our times tables ready for the Multiplication Check in the summer term. Please could you remind your children that although TTRS Soundchecks are timed we are focusing on the accuracy of their answers not the speed at which they answer them.
