Multiple Students

You may be enrolling more than one student into MNVA. With careful scheduling, it is feasible for more than one student to share a computer. You will need to arrange their schedules so the students who are not on the computer are completing their offline work. Once your students' teachers are assigned, you can talk with the teachers about setting up a daily schedule. As a reminder, students may have specific requirements for each teacher.

It will be beneficial for each student to have an area specific for their school items. Having an organized area will help the Learning Coach and students. It will help everyone save time in finding items and reduce stress in knowing where to store and retrieve items. This can also help young students become more independent- knowing where to go to locate their schooling items. This may be a simple as a cardboard box or plastic tote to store items for each student or as elaborate as each student having a separate desk for storage. Another idea would be color coding items for each student. You could use colored storage bins, colored stickers, or colored labels.

If you have multiple children you will be working with, you may want to have a bin of things your children can do while you are working with an individual child. As an example: you are working with one child. Another child was working independently and has finished his/her work. The Learning Coach will want to have a system in place so the other children will know what they are to work on while the Learning Coach works with another child. Some ideas that students could do independently are: reviewing spelling lists, writing/copying spelling words, reading vocabulary words, using flashcards, using letter blocks, reading, using enrichment activities within K12 lessons, sight word games, worksheets you have printed, etc. Students can even work on school websites such as Reading Eggs/Eggspress, Read Live, Reflex Math or other websites provided by the teachers.
