G. DiCerbo

Originally from Tecumseh, Ontario, Mrs. DiCerbo started her teaching career in 1994 and has lived in a few different corners of the province, working briefly for the Essex County Catholic board (now Windsor-Essex), and then moving for three years to Pikangikum First Nation before making her home permanently in Sault Ste. Marie in 1999. Since then she has taught at Mount St. Joseph College and St. Basil Secondary before joining the staff of SMC when the new building opened.

Mrs. DiCerbo loves to share her background in Visual Arts with her students. She graduated from the University of Windsor in 1993 with a B.F.A. (Honours) degree with majors in drawing and painting and a minor in English literature and creative writing. The following year she continued at U. of W. to earn her B.Ed. teaching certificate.

In the classroom, Mrs. DiCerbo finds that art has the power to create both excitement and calm. Her students' energy provides her with inspiration on a daily basis.

Mrs. DiCerbo loves all things outdoors and especially the beauty of the Algoma region. Landscape is a recurring theme in her own artwork. Outside of school, Mrs. DiCerbo enjoys trying out new recipes on her family, growing assorted garden vegetables, and sometimes when luck has it, catching the occasional fish.
