About the Dance Program

Dance classes at St. Mary’s College are offered in grade 9 through grade 11. All courses are open level and do not require any previous dance experience. The dance program encourages physical activity, the development of confidence and the ability to feel comfortable performing in front of an audience. As students begin in gr. 9, they gain the basic knowledge of dance technique for a variety of dance styles. Moving into gr. 10 and 11, students continue to work on technique while experimenting with creative movement and choreography development. Our hope is that students will develop a love and passion for this beautiful form of art.
