This year we are working to move ahead with several initiatives that will give our students access to more opportunities than those previously available to them.
Action Item 1: MAGNET PROGRAM
New to PHMS this year in our Magnet Program that will be bringing on new Health Science classes for each grade level in 2023-2024. This year is our planning and building phase where our team will be bringing families in to preview what is to come. Our Magnet Coordinator and team are hard at work getting the word out.
This semester we also worked to plan and bring our students and families our Career Fair, showcasing many exciting opportunities for our students.
Lesson plans must reflect technology integrations.
Ms. Angers class uses BrainPop to review and reflect on understanding.
Ms. Palileo's class using devices to locate information to plan for PowerPoint presentations.
8th grade Social Studies teachers routinely use devices for online content review to help students master the high academic vocabulary demands.
7th grade Math classes starting to move from pencil and paper to give students opportunities to use tech and be better prepared for STAAR 2.0 testing this year!
8th grade Science classes plan and develop presentations on the moon phases.
For our Transformation Plan element, our campus is currently Aligning. We have actions in place to help push our students further and provide new and exciting opportunities. As a campus, we are focused on moving our students forward in every way.
Our campus data currently shows some improvement from the year prior and we are leveraging that and gathering new information, with frequent formative data, pulled in large part by our team using technology to measure student mastery and inform instructional practices.
For our next steps, we will continue to focus on our additional Action Items, along with supporting teachers further with technology integrations to move our team and students even further along the TIM for more active, collaborative, constructive, authentic, and goal-directed learning for our scholars.
