School Goals & Progress (PLP)
Coming in at the beginning of Year 2, I quickly learned that this program provides unique opportunities for our students and I worked to become more familiar with the Verizon Innovative Learning program and what it looks like in an instructional setting where students are now face to face. The expected outcomes of the program on the teacher and student side and how the program can help our students toward their educational goal and campus accountability.
Our school and district leaders are definitely part of the work in terms of implementing technology features and programs that are aligned with the vision of Verizon Innovative Learning. From using digital resources and technology tools to lead meetings and presentations to acquiring feedback from stakeholders, the campus and district leadership team is definitely embracing the vision of the Verizon Innovative Learning program.
School & District Leadership
Administrative members meet every week to discuss ways for students to provide feedback on how we can better support teachers in allowing for more discourse through the use of technology as one way of providing feedback on learning.
The district supports the innovation and collaboration by partnering with digital promise and ensuring that the mission and vision of both entities are aligned to the instructional success of students.
Collaboration happens frequently so that campus and district leaders are on track in implementing the Verizon Innovative Learning program to support student learning.
Patrick Henry has created a policy system to monitor the use of devices on campus. A progression of policy has been outlined for teachers and students.
Monthly Chromebook checks first thing in the morning with reminders on the announcements
Implementing better discipline systems for student usage
Developing digital device support and loss forms
VILS coach and Data-Driven Instruction Specialist collaborated to create digital data trackers. Teachers have been supported in PLC and one on one to add student data trackers to our LMS and plan for ways students can use trackers to support their own individualized learning plans.
Teacher Leader Corps
Co-facilitating preservice PD on using technology to support digital workstations.
Leading a PLC for Enrichment teachers to create their own OneNote notebooks and share how she has used OneNote successfully in her classroom.
Actively engaging in all Immersive Lab check ins and supporting Ms. Burnett as they learn the curriculum together.
Mr. Boadi leads our incredible coding club. He also brought in Dr. Morgan and trained her on different coding and robotics programs to better support our students and campus!
Always the first to try something new. Ms. Reed works closely with the VILS coach to test out new tools and see how they can best support our students.
Dr. Morgan joins every TLC meeting and is eager to learn new things. She works closely with the 7th grade math team and Mr. Boadi to support technology integration.

Support more TLC members and other teachers successfully integrating technology to share their success and/or lead PLCs
Support Immersive Media Lab teachers to effectively adapt curriculum materials to meet the needs of their students and be better prepared to support core-content connections
Identify and develop teachers in each content who are willing & able to support with Canvas transition
Evidence of Success on Action Step 1:
Ms. Jones & Ms. Dillard shared in PLC about Book Creator project and field trip to Immersive Media Lab
Dr. Morgan & Ms. Nicholas both led math PLCs focusing on how they approach different content-area challenges and what technology tools have supported instruction to address those challenges
Evidence of Success on Action Step 2:
Co-planning with Burnett to adapt curriculum materials and creating exemplars together for students
Both Lab Mentor and other lab teacher demonstrating strong understanding of curriculum and ability to share expertise with others
Both lab teachers supported VILS Coaches from other campuses that are getting labs so those coaches are better prepared when their labs open in Fall 2022
Evidence of Success on Action Step 3:
Mr. Boadi is very eager to support with Canvas and has applied for the Canvas Champion role.
VILS Coach worked with Mr. Boadi to provide feedback and guidance on Canvas Champion application.
